Player to Watch: Morgan Whittaker

The Rapids lost a significant contributor when Rafa Navarro was sent to St. Louis in a league-record cash-for-player transfer, but Colorado looked to try to replace some of the Brazilian's production by signing winger Morgan Whittaker as a Designated Player during the Summer Window. Whittaker, late of Middlesbrough FC in the EFL Championship, brings goal scoring prowess from England - he had 14 goals in 40 appearances in 2025-26 for Middlesbrough.

Comfortable out on the wing or as a second striker, the former England U-20 Whittaker, 25, will be an unknown factor for CITY to deal with, having faced (and beaten) Colorado without him twice so far this season. Certainly, CITY Coach Yoann Damet has prepared his defense for a new-look Colorado attack as St. Louis tries to make the first cup final in club history Wednesday night.

Do they have any St. Louis-area players?
