Player to Watch: Maxi Moralez, Midfielder
Now in his tenth (!) season with New York City FC, the ageless Argentinian midfielder hasn't grabbed the headlines this season like his teammate Nicolás Fernández has (scoring 5 goals in 5 MLS matches this season will do that), but he's been the talisman for New York nonetheless. The diminutive veteran, all 5'3" of him, serves as the focal point of the New York City attack, utilizing his excellent field vision and awareness to serve as the connector between defense and offense. CITY midfielders Chris Durkin and Daniel Edelman must use their physicality to prevent Moralez from getting too comfortable and orchestrating the New York attack if CITY wants to emerge from Citi Field with a result.
