Player to Watch: Joseph Paintsil

With the injuries to old friend João Klauss and Ricqui Puig and the recent transfer of Gabriel Pec to Brazilian side Cruzeiro, the Galaxy attack is clearly not what it once was in previous seasons or even earlier this year. As such, Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil will be asked to shoulder even more of the load, along with German legend Marco Reus going forward for a Galaxy side on the fringe of playoff contention. Paintsil's speed is still his calling card, which puts enormous pressure on defenders - he's always a real threat down the wing to blow past people and create chances in on goal. With a Net G+ in the 94th percentile league-wide, he's still a lethal threat at any time to break down defenses and create scoring opportunities. Although he missed time earlier in the year with a hamstring injury, Paintsil will look to improve upon his 5 goal contributions this season as the Galaxy look to bounce back after Saturday's 3-0 El Trafico loss to LAFC.
