Player to Watch: Pep Biel, Midfielder
Spanish-born Midfielder Pep Biel has become Mr. Do-it-All for Charlotte FC, with over 20 goal contributions in MLS play during 2025. One of the top midfielders in the league by performance metrics, Biel uses excellent agility and acceleration to exploit space. He has a dangerous left foot and is accurate on set pieces. His tactical awareness and understanding of when to press defensively contribute to Charlotte's overall defensive structure and counterattack. Biel is the engine for Charlotte, and his play has a similar impact to what Ricky Puig does for LA Galaxy.

Do they have any St. Louis-area players?
Tim Ream (St. Dominic, SLU)
Tim Ream has built one of the most durable and respected careers in modern American soccer. After starring at SLU, he broke into MLS with the New York Red Bulls in 2010 before moving to England in 2012, where he became an integral part of Fulham's backline for a decade after a 2 season stint with Bolton.
Internationally, Ream has earned 79 caps for the U.S. Men’s National Team, appearing in multiple Gold Cups and playing a key role in the USA’s 2021 and 2024 Concacaf Nations League titles. His late‑career resurgence, including a strong showing around the 2022 World Cup cycle, cemented him as a veteran presence for the national team. Now in the later stages of his career, Ream still provides stability and leadership to a Charlotte FC side that finished 4th in the Eastern Conference in 2025.
