SLUH Tops Rockhurst 1-0 to Win 2nd Straight State Title

Controversial PK Gives Jr. Bills Only Goal of the Match

A Connor Niles penalty kick with 2 minutes remaining in the first half was the only goal of the match, as SLUH topped previously unbeaten Rockhurst in the 4A State Championship at Soccer Park in Fenton.

The PK, given for unnecessary contact by Rockhurst goalkeeper Luke Strueby, was argued by the Hawklets, but the decision stood. Niles then converted from the spot and the goal stood up as the Jr. Bills claimed their second straight state championship.

This is the fifth state title for SLUH and their first ever back-to-back titles after previously winning in 1973, 1990, and 2003.
