During the Y98 pregame show, Jen Siess visited with St. Louis CITY SC’s new forward Damion Downs, ahead of the team’s 4th of 5 games in a 15 day stretch - this time in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup semifinal against Colorado. Downs shared his story moving from American football to the world’s football, The Beautiful Game, as he moved from the US to Germany when young. Excited to possibly play more in the Open Cup with Rafael Navarro being cup-tied, Downs hopes to help the team with his versatility, quickness, scoring under pressure, and stretching defensive lines. Downs also talked about fitting into Coach Damet’s demanding style of play and keeping his mentality of playing with joy for the game, in the moment, getting 1% better every day.
