During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited with Ruth Harker, St. Louis Soccer Hall of Famer and original member of the inaugural 1985 US Women’s National Team. Harker talked about her personal impact from Title IX, North County soccer following the Gettemeyer twins from club to UMSL, the origin story of the “OOSA” chant for the USWNT, pushing the game for girls/women, and finally receiving due recognition from their efforts 40 years ago.
