During the Y98 halftime show, Jen Siess visited in-booth with Ruth Harker, St. Louis Soccer Hall of Famer and original member of the inaugural US Women’s National Team in 1985. The 85-er talked about her experience in The Beautiful Game alongside 16 other teammates who did it all with very few resources. Ruth also talked about her recent visit to Seattle to honor the USWNT GOAT., her teammate and friend, Michelle Akers, who accomplished so much and continues to advocate for girls and women in the game. Finally, Jen and Ruth discussed the newest change in the game with FIFA mandating that all women’s teams have at least one woman coach on the bench in the efforts to accelerate parity in the game.
